Meet The Face Behind TLIC Media
I’m Chris Hiltz, the proud owner of TLIC Media.
I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.
The art of photography and videography has captivated me ever since I was young. However, I never dreamed that it would one day become my career until I started traveling the world as a missionary. I saw an opportunity to use my passion for photo and video by raising awareness of the many challenges I witnessed while outside of the United States.
A few years ago, I came back to the US for a friend’s wedding and created a wedding film, which was well received by the couple and their family. Word slowly started to spread about the quality, and before long, I found myself getting hired for wedding gigs.
I soon fell in love with creating cinematic love stories, and officially began my business in 2017. Over the past couple of years, I have gone from starting as a single videographer with one camera to a full-scale multicam wedding film production crew with several employees.
I attribute my success to the support of every team member, and their dedication to providing the best possible solution. Most importantly, I attribute my achievements to God for allowing me to go into business in the first place. I believe what sets me apart from the others is that I run the enterprise in a Christian way that would make Jesus happy.
My humble endeavor is to create a stress-free wedding experience, by allowing the couple, their families, and the celebrations to take center stage. My unique style of candidly shooting and editing has received rave reviews from the couples that I’ve served.
I also love the relationships that are built in this industry, not only with the couples but with other creative artists, vendors, venue owners, and families. The most rewarding part of being a wedding videographer is the priceless smiles, laughs, and tears I get to see after delivering the final cut.
I still remember the first-ever video premiere I did, where I presented a couple their wedding film at their family’s Christmas party. As it was the first time I was showcasing a movie, I was nervous.
Fortunately, It all turned out smoothly, as half the crowd was crying with delight, and the other half was laughing with amusement. When the group started to chant my company’s name, I also had to fight back the tears of joy, while reminiscing about all the hard work I had put into the production.
When I am not crafting captivating wedding videos, I’m all about hobbies that teach me new things. From cooking to hiking, skydiving to scuba, rugby to racketball, there are very few things that I haven’t tried. Currently, I’ve been having a ton of fun woodworking and building a new room in my house.
I’m also passionate about supporting others to succeed, especially the youth. I have coached basketball, taught classes, tutored, and I’m currently the youth director of my church’s school program. If there is an opportunity for me to show someone something that I have learned, I will always take the chance!
I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
